This site uses Fathom analytics, a privacy focused analytics company which does not track any personal information about my visitors. I have no interest in knowing anything personal about you just because you’ve visited this site.
This analytics software provides me with simple, anonymous information to show me things like what pages are viewed and for how long. It will tell me basic information about visitors such as web browser, operating system, country and referring URL, but it does not track or tell me any personal information about visitors.
You can find out more about what steps Fathom takes to protect your privacy on their website.
When visitors leave comments on this site, the data shown in the comments form is collected, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you leave a comment on this site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when / if you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Who is your data shared with?
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
Other than that, no data from this website is shared with other services. If you send a message through the contact form, any information you send will be deleted automatically from this site within 30 days. I may keep your form submission within my email client for a longer period if required.
How long is your data retained?
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
What rights you have over your data
If you have left comments or sent a contact form message, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data held about you, including any data you have provided. You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where your data is sent
At the moment, to the best of my knowledge, your data is not sent anywhere. In the future, visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
